Geothermal
Ball State Campus Cooling and Heating Plant Geothermal Conversion; Muncie, IN

- When complete this will be the largest geothermal energy project to date in the United States.
- Will eliminate 80,000 tons of carbon emissions annually, cut energy costs by an estimated $2 million, reduce approximately half of the current campus carbon footprint, eliminate four coal fired boilers built in the 1950's and heat and cool more than 40 buildings over the 660 acre campus
- Phase one includes a new 6,000 SF Energy Center building with a full basement.
- The main floor contains a chiller room with two 150,000 pound chillers and support spaces.
- The basement level contains pumps, tanks and the associated piping.
- Design of new tunnels and modifications to existing tunnels for the distribution system to the buildings, including new and upgraded piping supports.

Wayzata Bay Internal Roadway; Wayzata, MN
- An environmentally friendly roadway where steel piles serve as foundation structures as well as a geothermal system to tap the ground for heat exchange. This roadway also includes a water containment and water filtration system designed to protect nearby Lake Minnetonka.

- A test base for measuring the kinematics and compliance of the suspensions of rail cars and modal vibration properties of the entire rail car.
- The test system is comprised of two heavy duty 329 Road Simulators and a 3 DOF MAST system in a pit 82" deep.
- The pit is approximately 10m wide x 30m in length.
