Firm Leadership:
Mike is President/Partner at Ericksen Roed & Associates, Inc. and has over 25 years experience as a structural engineer. His experience lies in the design and project management of multi-story, mixed-use, mid to high rise structures. Mikes' previous experience as an engineering department head at two construction companies offers a unique skill set to our clients. His creative use of materials, production processes, and ability to solve challenging structural issues has helped many of our clients meet their project pro-formas. Mike also holds two U.S. Patents and has published several articles ranging from high rise construction, connection detailing, to blast resistant analysis and design.
Jim is a Vice President/Partner at Ericksen, Roed & Associates, Inc. and has over 25 years of experience as a structural engineer. His design experience includes gravity and lateral systems for buildings of wood, masonry, concrete, post-tensioned concrete, pre-stressed concrete and structural steel. Jim’s responsibilities include design and coordination of structural projects, staffing and quality control. Design projects include medical, retail, housing, office buildings, schools, sports facilities and parking ramps with project construction costs ranging from .2 million to 75 million.
Bill is a Vice President/Partner at Ericksen, Roed and Associates, Inc. and has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of design. He is responsible for oversight of several ongoing structural projects which currently include multiple Target Stores nationwide. Bill’s responsibilities include design and coordination of structural projects, staffing and quality control.
Dave is a Principal at Ericksen, Roed & Associates, Inc. and is Vice President of Information Technology. He joined the firm in 1988 as a Structural Designer and established its CAD department. His responsibilities now encompass the Company's technology infrastructure. Dave is a frequent presenter at AEC IT and BIM conferences and regularly contributes to industry publications.
Bob is a Vice President/Principal at Ericksen, Roed & Associates, Inc. and has over 35 years of experience as a structural engineer. His experience includes lead design engineering of many complex projects, including the 900 Nicollet Target Office Building, Parking Ramp and Skyway Bridges, US Bancorp Office Tower, AT&T Office Tower, US Federal Courthouse and the Guthrie on the River, all located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Colleen is Office Manager of Ericksen, Roed & Associates, Inc. and joined the firm in 1999. She has over 20 years of experience in the Business and Accounting field with a main focus in the engineering industry. Colleen is responsible for the financial operations of the company as well as managing human resources and employee benefits. Her experience includes working with project managers, collaborating with leadership on financial information and decisions, and interaction with employees that encourages open communication.
Jamie is an Associate and the CAD/BIM Manager at Ericksen Roed and Associates, Inc.. He joined the firm in 1996 as a structural designer and, over time, completely modernized its AutoCAD customization. Jamie has been instrumental in the implementation of Revit Structure for BIM. Jamie's responsibilities include staffing, quality control and oversight of all Revit production. His experience includes working with several project types and structural systems which include the U of M Riverbend Commons, the US Bank Corp Building and The Guthrie on the River in Minneapolis. Jamie has been a speaker at Autodesk University, a contributor to industry publications, as well as coauthor of the books Mastering Revit Structure 2009 & 2010.
Mike is an Associate at Ericksen Roed and Associates, Inc.. His career began with an internship and rolled into full-time employment immediately upon graduation. Mike's current responsibilities include staffing, quality control and oversight of Target retail and distribution center projects.
Founding Partner and former President, Bud Ericksen, retired effective January 1st, 2010. Ericksen Roed & Associates owes much to Bud's vision, perseverance and leadership over the firm's first 25 years. Bud will continue to assist in marketing and public relations efforts, when not spending time with his family or polishing up his golf game.
Founding Partner, Tom Amundson, retired effective January 1st, 2009. Tom will be splitting his time between the cabin in northern Minnesota and his house in the Phoenix, AZ area. Ericksen Roed & Associates thanks Tom for his years of service to the firm and wishes him a happy and healthy retirement!
Former Principal, Bob Curtis, retired effective January 1st, 2010. Bob remains on call for projects that require his unique areas of expertise (Aviation, Test Facilities, Laboratories, etc.) or whenever he has a new story to share.
